Claire Crunk

Bio

Claire Crunk is a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner turned hemp fiber nerd who entered the hemp world in 2018 after leaving her practice due to burnout. After learning about the environmental and technical benefits of hemp fiber, she saw the potential for this fiber integration into menstrual products. Finding no viable supply chain or regional processors to support such commercial production, she started Southeast Hemp Fiber and worked for three years developing hemp fiber cultivation, processing, and supply chains for optimized domestic hemp fiber production at scale. She secured $17MM of fiber requests in her first year of market development and has been a featured speaker at various hemp, fiber, nonwovens, and textile conferences. She works alongside major brands on technical textile development, and has herself planted test plots of the fiber cultivar used in Trace tampons today. She officially started Trace Femcare in August of 2020 and is tracking to release product for sale by the end of next year. Claire lives in Tennessee on a hobby farm with a supportive husband and three lovely daughters.
