Sarah Stenuf, a native of Syracuse, NY., served four years and a deployment to Afghanistan while in the U.S. Army. Stenuf was a 15R - Apache crew chief out of Fort Drum, prior to being medically retired for epilepsy from a traumatic brain injury and subsequent post traumatic stress disorder. Finding help was not easily had for Stenuf and others like her but has since made it her life's mission is to educate others about veteran post-service issues and to provide help to other veterans. Stenuf founded Veteran’s Ananda Inc. a, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, homestead and retreat that provides free care, support and rehabilitation to our veterans, first responders and their families, through traditional and nontraditional treatments and therapies. Veteran's Ananda believes post traumatic growth is possible through an individualized approach to care....Connecting with ones self. Therefore, one of their main focuses is agro-cognitive therapies. Because to be one with nature, is to be one with yourself ("Ananda"). At Veteran's Ananda homestead and retreat, veterans stay in tiny homes on the farm and are provided access to programs, services, and resources. The nonprofit is working on expanding their efforts to create a veteran village where veterans can utilize their transitional housing and care through longitudinal studies. These will include short duration, high impact retreats as well as long term post traumatic growth programs that will revolutionize a model of healing that integrates evidence-based-based therapies, a safe and peaceful space, with unparalleled customer service; to improve physical, emotional. Spiritual, and economic well-being for our nation’s armed service members, veterans, first responders, and their families. Stenuf is also the Founder and CEO of Ananda Farms, LLC, the Veteran's Ananda for-profit subsidiary. Ananda Farms has a New York State Drug Enforcement Administration hemp cultivation license in Oswego County. One of the first of it's kind it this area. The organic farm is located on a beautiful and serene 22 acre farm. Ananda Farms provides jobs, opportunities, and incentives to veterans and their families. Through the hemp grown on the farm, they are able to produce their CBD product line "Ananda Farms". A portion of Ananda Farm's proceeds are donated to Veteran's Ananda Inc. “I believes that it is our social responsibility to help one another in our community. And if we could all come to that recognition and help one another, then we can create an evolution.” said Stenuf.
