Susan Trapp

Bio

Dr. Susan Trapp received her doctoral degree in biochemistry from the University of Maryland and postdoctoral education at the Institute of Biological Chemistry (at Washington State University) where she focused on the molecular evolution and genomics of terpenoid natural products in fungi and plants. Her research areas are genomics, computational biology, biotechnology, and bioassay development. Dr. Trapp has an entrepreneurial spirit, she has participated in and founded several bioscience start-ups within the biofuels, medical device, and cannabis industries. Trapp earned her crown as the ‘Queen of Terpenes’ by serving as a scientific advisor and valued consultant for cannabis and hemp companies as they continue to navigate the function of terpenes in products. Trapp also serves as an instructor for the Cannabinoid Industry Association’s accredited courses.
