Will Read

Bio

Will Read started CannaPlanners in 2015 with the goal of normalizing the Cannabis industry through beautiful design, streamlined web production and strategic digital marketing services. With ten years of prior employment in the tech + digital marketing fields, Read woke up primed to solve two of the biggest challenges facing the emerging industry. The first, a general misunderstanding of broad marketing tasks and the second, the removal of a long, sordid stigma. Music: A lifelong fan of the Grateful Dead, Read's first Dead show was to be September 1995 at the Boston Garden, but we all know what happened, and Read never had the opportunity to see Jerry Garcia live. Most of his live music experiences centered around Phish - whom Read has seen too many times to count. In addition to Phish, and the extended Dead family, Read enjoyed live performances from bands like the Slip, Dr. Dog, Arcade Fire and on and on. In 2003 Read started a college band with some of his friends at St. Lawrence University in upstate New York called the Casual Fiasco. After moving to Burlington, VT in 2004 they began touring the country non-stop playing a few hundred shows per year until late 2007 when the stress of nomadic life finally took its toll. In 2012 Read released a solo album under the moniker Small Mountain Bear. Moving to NYC later in 2007, Read began working for Apple - where among other tasks, he worked with several celebs as their private shopper. The universe is a funny thing, and counted within his clientele were Trey Anastasio from Phish, and Phil Lesh from the Grateful Dead; relationships which Read easily projected to be more intimate than in reality, but yielded some fun stories none-the-less.
